seven REASONS Why YOU SHOULD KNOW OAMI

  1. Compute. Collaborate. Contribute. OAMI provides space during business hours for undergraduate students to use computer, meet With student organizations, or assist in one of the programs.
  2. Pay Respect To A King. Each January, OAMI coordinates one of the largest celebrations of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through lectures, workshops and community service.
  3. Cultivate Diversity. You or your student organization can initiate or participate in academic multicultural activities through funds provided through Student Academic Multicultlural Initiatives (SAMI).
  4. Take Credit for Reaching Out. Tutor or mentor in a pre-college program sponsored by OAMI and receive academic credit through Sociology 389.
  5. Major In the Minors. Perfect your resume, Cultivate valuable networks, Polish your personal and professional development. Participating in Leaders and Best will show you how the little things can make a tremendous difference in the college experience and future career.
  6. Graduate and Celebrate. Celebrate your graduation by participating in Black Celeb, La Celebracion Latina, or The Native American Graduation Celebration. Each celebration will give you the opportunity to celebrate the accomplishment of students, faculty, and staff who share your common experiences and culture.
  7. Earn While You Learn. At OAMI, you will receive more than a paycheck. OAMI provides opportunities and programs to enhance personal and professional development. Positions for front desk receptions, student leaders, student mentors, and program assistants are available each semester.
